This Matrix on this Kingman Turquoise Stone is Outstanding! Large Genuine High Grade Kingman Turquoise Nugget set in Sterling Silver Pendant on a 3 Strand, 18" Long Navajo Pearl Necklace. Created by Navajo Artist Joe Piaso and Vangie Touchine. Signed by the artist. The Mineral Park Mine, in the Cerbat Mountains 14 miles northwest of Kingman, was first mined by Indians centuries before white man came to the area. It is one of the three sites of prehistoric mining localities in the state of Arizona. Mineral Park was the most extensively worked area by the Indians of the three. S.A. "Chuck" Colbaugh found a cache of stone hammers uncovered in ancient trenches and tunnels, when he had the turquoise mining concession in May of 1962. Ithaca Peak and Turquoise Mine (formally called Aztec Mountain or Aztec Peak) are the most famous of the peaks in the area containing turquoise.

About a year ago I purchased a Calvin Begay Spiral pendant in which the craftsmanship and artistry simply amazed me. After the purchase of the pendant and in reviewing other items from Calvin I saw that I had missed these beautiful spiral earrings which were a match to the pendant. Well seemed only right to bring these treasures home to meet up with the pendant I had purchased some time back. When they arrived just incredible and glad they had found their way home. I was looking for a pair of earrings to create a set to go along with my purchase of the night sky design bear pendant purchased. What a match and excited of how they go together.
