Artie Yellowhorse Sterling Silver Pietersite Post Earrings
Genuine Pietersite set in Sterling Silver Post Earrings. Created by Navajo Artist Artie Yellowhorse. Signed by the artist.
Pietersite is a stone aggregate made up of hawk's eye and tiger's eye. It was originally discovered by Sid Peters in 1962 in Namibia on the African continent. In 1993, a similar stone was discovered in the Hunan Province of China. Production from both of these mines is limited so the stone can be difficult to find.
Pietersite colors include blues, rusty reds, golds and browns. It is also known as Tempest Stone and Eagle's Eye.

The Sonoran Turquoise bracelet I purchased is beautiful--one of several items I have from Treasures of the Southwest, all of which are favorites of mine to wear. Thanks to you and the artists who created them!
