Genuine Mabe Pearl set in Sterling Silver Earrings with Shepherd Hooks. Created by Navajo Artist Artie Yellowhorse. Signed by the artist. Mabe Pearls are cultivated on the inside of a mollusk's shell. A small nucleus, usually made out of mother of pearl, is attached to the shell of the mollusk and left to accumulate nacre over a period that usually runs about two or three years.
The Yellowhorse trademark "Rising Sun" design is one of their most popular collections with its round or oval-domed center surrounded by small 'drops'or beads of silver, each one made by hand.
