Artie Yellowhorse Genuine Kingman Turquoise Sterling Silver Pendant
Genuine High Grade Kingman Turquoise set in Sterling Silver Pendant. 18" long, Sterling Silver Diamond Cut Rope Chain is included. Created by Navajo Artist Artie Yellowhorse. Signed by the artist.
The Mineral Park Mine, in the Cerbat Mountains 14 miles northwest of Kingman, was first mined by Indians centuries before white man came to the area. It is one of the three sites of prehistoric mining localities in the state of Arizona. Mineral Park was the most extensively worked area by the Indians of the three. S.A. "Chuck" Colbaugh found a cache of stone hammers uncovered in ancient trenches and tunnels, when he had the turquoise mining concession in May of 1962. Ithaca Peak and Turquoise Mine (formally called Aztec Mountain or Aztec Peak) are the most famous of the peaks in the area containing turquoise.

Can't praise these folks enough. Jewelry masquerading as art, or art masquerading as jewelry? Either way---fair pricing, top notch work (again) by Mr Begay, excellent communication, quick shipping. WHat more can one ask for?

I was not looking for this piece. But I had to take another look at him. So glad I did. He makes quite the impression. Large and bold.

I love Calvin's night sky pieces. Have several of them. Horses have been my passion since I was a little. His pieces are bold and beautiful. Thanks

Unique, timeless, simple elegance of design executed by virtuoso craftsmanship (or, "craftswomanship," as I've used in previous reviews). Yet another addition to my growing collection of Artie Yellowshorse's jewelry!
